Charity Work
Making a difference
Students are regularly involved in raising money for worthy causes. The students' chosen charity last year was Young Minds, The UK’s leading charity fighting for a world where no young person feels alone with their mental health.
As well as bake sales that students organise throughout the year, we also had a few events during 2024-25.
We held a Business Verus Economics challenge during the BGS sports day. Both teams ran a tuck-shop-style shop, providing well-needed refreshments to students but also competing to raise the largest amount! Our Economics Team raised £100, but they were beaten by the Business Team who made £150! A great amount raised for Young Minds. Well done to both teams!
Teachers also got in on the act and volunteered to take part in the ice bucket Challenge. Students and staff voted with their cash and Mr Ladbury, Mrs Gardiner and Mr Proud all took one for the team. Students and staff raised £185 for Young Minds.
